Your Friday Must Have

I’m not a huge fan of gadgets. Generally they take up space, are difficult to clean and eventually break down. Having said that, there are a few things that I cannot live without and this is one of them. Yes, it’s a ‘steamer’ and yes, you can just use a saucepan and a sieve but this is so much more. It’s your M&S of steamers.

It’s been in almost daily use for over four years now and the Magimix build quality is superb. The temperature settings mean that it is idiot proof. Rice is cooked to perfection, fish is done perfectly and homemade yoghurts get devoured on a daily basis. I’d honestly never eaten a steamed carrot that I thought was truly delicious until they were done in this.

It is also incredibly easy to clean, the top parts go in the dishwasher (the design means they don’t take up too much space) and the curved sides means that it wipes clean in a second. No corners or angles to trap gribble! And yes, I know the price band is higher than some but sometimes the “buy once, cry once” adage pays off and this is one of those times.
It’s a highly recommend from me!

I’m a keen user of steamers but it’s great to know this one is self powered and compatible with Windows :grin:

We’ve had ours for over 10years and counting now, we got it after going through several plastic Tefal ones that some part or other broke!, the Magimix is well worth its price tag.

The forum software is bringing in the metadata from the Amazon page - specifically the page title and description.

Handy in a way as you can see what the link is about without clicking it.

Are steamers a new thing?

We have had steam ovens in our last three houses back to maybe 2000… I kinda thought cooking with steam was normal - even the veggies for dog’s dinner…
