Pivotal indeed is “Viens, viens” by Marie Laforêt which was in the charts when I did my French exchange in the very early 70s and is redolent of acne, O levels and unrequited love but haunts me to this day! Mercifully the zits have cleared up even if the unrequited love hasn’t.
