Isn’t it just, you’ve got to laugh.
Unfortunately it isn’t a laughing matter. There are millions of Americans for whom $2,000 is a very considerable sum of money, and these are people who from day to day don’t buy anything other than basic essentials. Bear in mind that they also probably don’t understand that US tariffs are actually paid by Americans at the end of the day as they have been led to believe that the contrary is true. These ill-informed and relatively uneducated people exist in their millions. These are the sort of people who go fishing on the end of the pier for catfish, which when caught they fillet for the ‘meat’ and then throw back into the river still alive ! (A barbaric act that I personally witnessed.) $2,000 – Good grief – they’ll go to hell and back for ya for a couple of hundred.
You want a third term as President ? Just bribe the dumber end of the voting spectrum first.

I believe that there is precedent for people believing a blatant lie if it is told loud enough, and often enough, especially if it comes from the leader of the party / country. The President said it so it must be true.

In a similar vein there are proposals to take a portion the ACA money and give it to people to ostensibly pay for insurance or to deposit in Healthcare Savings Accounts. Of course we all know that most Americans will use that money to pay bills and credit card debt, not pay for health insurance. There have been no comments from the Leader and his minions on the inflationary effects of the billions of dollars in stimulus in either plan.
Not so coincidentally the Leader has rolled back a Biden regulation that prohibited medical debt from being considered in credit scores. While simultaneously raising healthcare costs by 40% to 60%. As has been said before: “The cruelty is the point”.

And then of course, any that do get into huge debt, or die due to health issues … it’ll be their own fault. Win win for the Republican party.

You are giving them too much credit. I would suggest at least one new gun and some monster wheels and tires for the pickup truck. Also a Trump flag to mount in the bed.
