And dont forget to try Leffe if you haven’t yet. I like both the Blonde and the Ruby.
Having drunk vast quantities of the stuff, beer shouldn’t ever be tampered with (eg, removing the alcohol, adding flavours etc). Just saying
Whilst I agree totally, as the nominated driver I have little choice
Erdinger wasn’t bad, and so is Guinness Zero. I agree that if you cross the Pyrenees try the “tostadas”. My preference is Mahou.
I would elevate Guinness zero way above wasnt bad to so far still the best if you like dark beer.
Leffe Ruby 0% alcool is fantastic for summer sipping!
I should have said
I tried Afflinghem and like it.
Still to try most of the other recommendations
Tried Leffe Blonde last week in Bruges as I saw it in a little shop. I was quite impressed. Yes, it didn’t quite have the normal flavour of Leffe Blond but it was very refreshing and enjoyable. If I was given it blind I would not realise it was 0%, but I wouldn’t say it was Leffe Blonde either. But I would buy it again. Next stop, Guinness 0% if I can find it
I think it’s best not to compare 0.0% with"normal" beer, but just to take it as a drink on it’s own terms.
Haven’t found Guinness 0% yet. Bought some more Leffe Blonde 0% and tried it next to a ‘regular’ Leffe Blonde and I have to say it is very close between the two. If anything the 0% is a little more refreshing and I’ll definitely buy more. And the 0% is slightly cheaper than the regular.
Their store finder is rubbish. If you enter a place, and there isn’t a store there, it says there’s no store, then gives you a map of France with no stores marked on it. If you enter a city with a store (I used Paris) then it shows you the stores there but no others. So, the only way to find your nearest store is to guess repeatedly until you get a hit.
Likewise the Afflingham doesnt seem to be around our area.
It’s in our Carrefour but that’s to try next time.
I found it at SuperU
Agree
I should probably drink 0% more. I can cheerfully neck 6 or 8 bottles of (say) Pelforth (brune or blonde) in an evening (possibly not so cheerful the next day though ) but find a couple of zero percent beers is about all I can manage before feeling bloated. It would save calories as well as alcohol.
No such luck my way, did see the alcohol version.
I used to be confused when the Alkoholfrei beer that I bought in Germany was sold as a low alcohol beer in the U.K.
There is an Irish bar near me that sells 0% Guinness that, to me, tastes like the real thing.
Yes David, I agree as I have only 9 cans left now
You will find Affligem between Aalst and Asse
Have recently sampled both Woodforde’s Volt 0.5% IPA and the 0.5% version of Adnam’s Ghostship.
The former is delicious and the latter is identical to the full fat version which I’ve always enjoyed.
