Sand blasting at home, is it feasible?

I have a cupboard that I would like to strip of its paint, it's metal, is it practical to buy some equipment to do it or is it an expensive business?

Another thought. Most grave stone lettering is done with a rubber stencil & shot blasting. If you know a friendly monumental mason & the cupboard will fit in his cabinet it may be worth asking. I had a mate in Blighty who did this & the recycled dust was brill. for cleaning up my motor cycle parts.

Thank you gentlemen, looks like a job best left to the professionals!

came across this outfit in Dax. Might be cheaper to get a devis before buying kit.

looks good James !!!!!

You can buy a sandblasting kit for a pressure washer but it's a bit messy & the sand is expensive but OK for small jobs. Alternatively a guy I knew brought a sandblasting nozzle & hose for me to try on my compressor but we never tried it & he's now moved away. Seems like they're available & for what it's worth it didn't look that expensive.
