5 year Titre de Sejour swap for 10 year/permanent Titre de Sejour

I appreciated that a human being (I assume) named Nora answered my enquiry email:

*Les demandes de renouvellement se font à 2-3 mois avant la fin de la validité de votre titre.

Veuillez revenir vers nous dans cette période.*

I’ll be having a go in a fortnight and let you all know how we get on :slightly_smiling_face:

It would be great to hear how you get on Susannah. OH needs to renew his next year.

It’s 2 months before expiry of your card and it’s not been announced yet.

Has anyone successfully renewed their TdS after moving house? I moved earlier this year and submitted a request via the ANEF site in May, which is still waiting to be processed. I’m not too worried as my current one is a 10 year one, but curious to know if this is normal.

We applied online for new WA CdS in 2021 after moving to our present home, still in the same Department but a new town.

We filled in on Anef, and then I completely stuffed up our tax stamp payments by getting scammed online. The Prefecture were very sympathetic when we went to collect our cards and we took a brisk walk along the road ti a Tabac to pay these again. I heartily advise you to pay yours at the Tabac!

They weren’t sympathetic enough to waive the second, genuine fee though, were they?!

In 2023 we changed our CdS by dealing directly with the préfecture. ISTR we filled out a form on the Manche préfecture website, were given an rdv for re-fingerprinting/new photos (maybe), then another rdv to exchange old for new

If just wanting to change your address you can do it here. It’s not compulsory that you must have a new card for an address change. We did this and when logging into our account it shows that our request has been accepted.

Thanks, all :folded_hands:

That’s the site I used. We did change départment, not just town. Maybe I should chase it up.

Yes you should. Who is your prefecture?

As a side issue to this subject…

We had our address changed at the start of this year due to the nationwide reorganisation of all non-compliant addresses. We have not moved but the address is totally different to the one we have on our Cartes de Séjour Permanent.

The advice letter we received with all the info clearly states that we don’ need to change our cards to reflect the new address - it will happen when the cards are renewed in 2030.

Same here, quite a slog notifying all and sundry. But didn’t need to notify the Fr Govt. As I understand things the CdSWA just acknowledges one’s right to be in France etc.. and no way is it a proof of address . (just as well as we now officially live in Brigadoon  albeit we haven’t actually moved a centimetre ).

For someone changing departments… it’s more than likely a different story and Kim will know what’s what :+1:

It was Bordeaux as we were in the Médoc, but have now moved to Charente-Maritime. There’s a sous préfecture here in Rochefort, who were super helpful and friendly. I’ll go and speak to them when I have some spare time.

Thanks all.

Hi Gareth, it’s Charente-Maritime’s responsibility to update it, try this email address;
