Adventures with astrophotography

I have always seen faces and all sorts of things in the flocked wallpaper which Chinese restaurants used to favour in UK back in the 60’s/ 80’s

OH is similarly “gifted” and we often chuckle about what we “think” we can see as we scan the skies, hedgerows, fields and woodlands around us..

That is a deer!

Well, it was a fox when I took the pictures :joy:

It’s looking like the next week or two are going to be scorchio with clear skies, so fingers crossed I can get the telescope out. Now that galaxy season is over, there are lots more interesting objects on the horizon (not literally of course :joy:) to take pictures of. I’m just hoping that we don’t get what happened last time when the days were crystal clear but the nights had persistent high cloud :crossed_fingers:.

Good for you! I’m going to be in Cornwall with Di for 10 days from Weds onwards and it’s not looking great down there at the moment.

My ZWO camera is still being repaired - I will chase them on Tuesday and see if they can ship it to me in Bodmin if it’s fixed. As a backup I have just ordered an ASIAIR Plus which I can use to shoot with my Fujifilm X-H2 camera, and am taking the Dwarf 3 as well!

I’m not sure what targets will be accessible, Di’s deck faces west but I haven’t sussed out how much of a view there is to the north east and south.

We could go up on Bodmin Moor of course but staying out all night is probably not going to be popular with Madame!

Not just unpopular, but you may risk meeting the beast !

It seems my reputation precedes me… :squinting_face_with_tongue:
