As mentioned the one I linked to worked surprisingly well for me - I only had a mild pulled muscle, but having expected the thing to be mostly fuelled by snake oil and/or unicorn droppings, I did feel it helped with my recovery, FWIW.
The infra red with near infra red LED’s can work well as it stimulates healing.
They always were - but surely, if you are getting benefit from them, is to continue with regular checks of how your kidneys are doing.
Personally I have to avoid them because they make my tinnitus worse.
My blood tests results a year ago didn’t point to any kidney problems. - my next test is due soon. What my doctor did say when pressed was that I could take them when needed - if I intended to spend time bending and lifting for example.
I think he’s worried that he’d be responsible for any kidney mishaps that might occur if he prescribed the recommended dose - Naproxen twice a day. He was worried enough to suggest I take paracetamol instead.
I shall ask for Naproxen the next time he renews my regular prescription as I now understand that their possible effect on the kidneys, when detected, can be mitigated by stopping taking them. When I was taking them I only took half the recommended dose anyway but will take them as recommended from time to time as and when I feel the need.
