You touch on sensitive and heart breaking issues. Macron has used peaceful villages as sink holes for the disenfranchised members of society neither villagers or urbanites are happy. our village on one dark night culled over 20 maybe 30 cats the Marie denied all knowledge. Our brave mother cat who had literally attacked a huge Argentno Dog defending kittens as the Rough tough owner looked on in disbelief! She went on to survive rat poisoning left everywhere and I found her lying discreetly awaiting her fate I gave charcoal tablets cut of her dismembered tail and after walking on front legs for a month fully recovered.
The sheer wickedness of those who issue edicts given them a sense of power is just as mindless as the dog owners who bring killer dogs into peaceful communities.
We so miss our brave mother cat!! Resident Montaigu De Quercy
That is truly an appalling story Johnnyboy and what a brave cat your mother cat was. There are, unfortunately, people who have cruel natures and look to kill rather than be constructive. Animals are sentient beings and should be respected as such.
I am happy to say that we do not have the kind of inhabitants you described being your neighbours.
We did fave a mayor who didnāt like cats, suggesting to jot feeding them would solve the problem of overpopulation.
Thank god a couple if neighbours have gotten together to catch, neuter and care for about 20-25 cats. We took in 2 of them but my husband will not add another to the fold.
So I resort to fostering kittens for a nearby cat rescue. Best of all worlds.
Our 3 residents have to tolerate the occasional visitor, I have fun with the kittens and OH is happy when our living room is toy free again.
Should you ever think about getting another cat - the shelters are also full.of older cats needing a lap and a cosy place to hang out.
Fostering is an easy way to get the best for oneself and a cat.
Our farming neighbour has adopted a cat for the farm after he saw the nights catch our 2 strays dropped at the door. 3 rats, 2 mice - considerably better and cheaper than poison.
Which is great, owls and other wildlife are in as much danger from rat poison as are cats.
Welcome but with respect, TBH I thought your post looked like a political attack using our soft hearts for animals to make it strike. Almost as though you were programmed to do it.
You are seriously very welcome but I donāt think social ills and terrible behaviour is really the fault of any particular politician or party.
Morning Karen ! No not a political comment but one pointing out thoughtless actions are often heartless ones. the cats are gone by the stroke of a pen ,people uprooted and decanted elsewhere by another. As someone stated cats are sentient beings emotions feelings fears, most mammals share the very same qualities that we possess The cats are gone ..whoās next?
We helped amongst many to feed the cats in monty most were house cats abandoned by folk returning to where ever all were very healthy in the main. We have four and a Tom who pops in for food each day. Many kind people kept the cats alive and well the cull was im sure not instigated by the previous Mayor but someone or group wanted a nice tidy village⦠they got their wish.
Hi Moray ! Yes your point that cats are sentient is so true they often put greetings well above eating as their priority we are all mammals sharing very similar traits. Cruelty by some and thoughtless by others plenty of good folk in the main. Very nice posting!
