Thanks for your reply. We have located the electrode - but cannot see any way to extract it - even with the right tools! Everything is ‘squashed in’ with obstructions in the way of access. We will try to decide the best option now as the least worst option while we are away for the next few weeks -to hopefully not come back to mosquito city. Then we’ll look at how much maintenance a fully automated pool system would require - as that seems to be the most likely long term solution.
Thanks again
Sue
Hi Sue, Yes I agree, get the eau de javel in there asap that will at least help stop the swamp that algae will cause left unchecked.
Salt chlorination, sized properly can be useful as you can control it safely over the internet. Filtration is key to a good system and the Desy bags are a poor example.
Yes amother quality install by Desjoyaux pools. Caveat Emptor!
To be fair we weren’t the ‘emptor’ and thus had been fine with someone living here and maintaining it full time. We always planned an upgrade - just not within 6 months of purchase!

Twas more a warning to other reading the thread. I picked up you inherited the pool.
Not a question we’d have known to ask - so there’ll be plenty of others who learn the hard way like us!!
