By the way Survive France is a product and a creation which has brought
so many of you together. Is this related to where the founders live or where
they came from..............
just their determination to make life work for them...
and others.
Put aside your degrees and your dusty collections of knowledge and recall your
imaginations and your spirit of adventure.

And it is not just the young who can find something dynamic to do.
I do not see the French country side as hopeless place for hopeless people to
live.
Not everyone who lives in the cities of the world lives a contented life.

Well we will take your wise words on board and buck up our ideas won't we. Just go & have a look in cities and I think you'll have a very different impression. Choosing to live in the sticks, in one of the poorest & most rural départements, which is the home of many retired people and part-time foreigners doesn't make for a buzzing dynamic 24 hour lifestyle.
I have spent a lot of time looking at the French and have realised .....and
to my mind that, on the whole they are not leaders but they could lead.
They....on the whole need to be inspired.
If they take courage and realise that there is a lot more to life then we
could have a magical situation.
Did the French restistance not wake up and become dynamic....A YES
but they are slipping back into a depression.
No I do not agree that the French are happy with their LOT.....if
they was a stimulation in cultural and financial interests and activities
it would do wonders for France.
All the ingredients are here for so much but too many people are saying" No
that will not work.....it is not possible"
Nothing is that impossible.

I believe thay can be very dyanmic when they wish to be ..but not in the typical anglo saxon way ..try taking away an old earned priviledge (like retiring at 52 for the cheminots) or bring in a reform and you'll see that they can really get their act together, and bring the place to a standstill!
We spoke with the owner of the Mercedes concession in Macon yesterday and he said that anyone with any dynamism was going to UK!
For me that is a problem....one of the biggest.
I know that country folk are set in their ways
and happy with what they have....
Or so I am hearing from SFRANCE members but.alittle stimulation and some injection of
new business ideas and activities would do wonders.

What a good question Barbara. In my line of work I come across a lot of very dynamique French people, some young, some old, but all highly motivated. This based on city living though.
In the countryside I only tend to see one or two that are really motivated.
