Hang on - I’m confused. the prices you quote seem to suggest the opposite.
I have to say I would not naturally assume buying more in a pack meant higher per unit prices. Very strange mentality.

You’re right Billy, I transposed them when copy /pasting.
I have edited my post.
Still , 2 markedly different prices for same weight of product.
edit OK the products are different size and packaging, but same chocolate.
There is, the new bar code is on the strap holding the 2 together and placed to cover the individual bar codes. The code for the 2 is 717 and for each individual, 698, so if I split the pack before getting to the cash out I should get both at the individual prices.
But, I will only go to that trouble if there aren’t enough single cans for what I need.
At an Intermarche in a town near us I once observed an employee removing “special offer” multipacks from the shelves to unwrap them and replace them as single items. The multipacks were marked up at a good discount. The singles were the normal price. Ripoff in action!
Toilet paper is a tricky one because sheet thickness also comes into the equation. I like the quilted ones which are thicker; without going into too much intimate detail, with thin sheets you may find that they tear too easily so you fold them over and hence use more sheets.
I tend to stick to the same brand so i know what I am getting!
Just1 are great.
Heartily agree.. I was flabbergasted to see the “price per sheet” quoted but still check it from time to time out of curiosity ![]()
You wear a Motocross helmet in the bathroom? I don;t know your personal situation, but a slightly extreme precaution I would have thought… ![]()
Yes, I noticed that too and asked one of the shop assistants if it was correct, and if so, what is the ‘Prix Choc”?
Her answer, “Yes, the big one has a strap so it’s convenient to carry, the smaller ones don’t.”!
Hence, you’re paying extra for the strap. ![]()
Maybe they should have a rating in “grams per square metre” like they do for printing paper and card.
I should probably write to the Bog Roll Marketing Board and suggest it. ![]()
Finger resistivity?
The most bizarre ‘experiment ‘ I ever saw in the retail industry was where a supermarket wanted to see if customers would buy ‘ wonky’ fruit and veg, the stuff they generally don’t sell because customers apparently prefer perfect looking stuff. So…they put the wonky ones on sale AT THE SAME PRICE as unwonky ones. At the end of the trial the supermarket decided that as there had been little up take it proved that customers didn’t want wonky fruit and veg!!! The supermarket paid next to nothing for the wonky stuff but for some reason decided the trial would have them at the same price. I always buy cheaper wonky stuff in Aldi, tastes exactly the same of course.
In the UK at least there are specialist online wonky retailers. ![]()
But it makes more sense to buy locally instead of having that kind of stuff shipped.
