Can anyone please explain the law regarding supermarket special offers in France?

I’m not surprised.
At our Super U in Saint Bonnet their stock control is appalling without special offers anyway.

We have received one of the printed booklets from Carrefour for things for the garden.
There is a special offer on plants and they clearly state the amount of each type of plant available in this offer.
If they do that for one thing, why not for others?
It, obviously means that there is not limited availability on their other offers, yet we know that they run out fast!

Found a good deal in Carrefour the other day. We wanted some Indian beer to go with curry but couldn’t find any.
However, Singha Beer (Thai) was on special offer.

  • 24 bottles of 33cl each with 70% off. So, instead of €33 it was €9.90. A good deal, indeed.
When we checked the receipt later, the system had reduced the €9.90 by 70%!!!
That made it €2.97 for eight(ish) litres of beer! Now, how is that for a bargain?
