Car insurance conundrum

Try , Taylor Sagassur 75009 Paris. 01.42.80.15.03. Mr Cosset.

If Mr Cosset is still there and the company still operating in Paris I can recommend them. Mr Cosset speaks English and the team helped me greatly after an accident. They also did my home insurance. I hope this helps.

They are conning you !!!!!!

I have been able to use my 60% NCB on all my 4 cars and 1 moto without any problems . May I suggest you contact Nick Chubb on 04 68 32 41 20 and he will arrange immediate cover without any problems

this is who we use now and she has got us some very good deals...however...we had already insured for a year in France before we came across her....so lost our NCB.

I started with Axa but they were dreadful to deal with. Moved to Allianz but their prices went up hugely after a year or two. Now with Credit Agricole who have been very competitive

My full Bonus accepted by French Insurers through Gaye galliver at BIBA

I use Generali in Bordeaux. Contact Pascale Fisher 0545820320 speaks perfect English and has honoured my no claims bonus from England and my new renewal for August has been reduced even further.

Just chatted with hubby about this and he has dug up this link which he reckons explains all :- http://www.lost-in-france.com/living-in-france/insurance/548-no-claims-bonus-system

I hope it helps.

Peggy

We used Allianz who accepted out english no claims.

what doesnt make sense is that we were with AXA in the UK and initially went to join AXA here....and they wouldnt recognise their own companies no claims! so on purpose we went elsewhere.

We have had the same problem after returning to the UK with insurance companies here not accepting a French no claims bonus.

Actually....I should add this, we went via BIBA, brokers in Villareal, who get me a good deal, I pay much less than I did in the UK!

Can't remember all the détails now as a few years ago but same thing happened to us. We went with the local Axa branch and they accepted 50% despite me having more in the UK. One company that we tried to insure the house with were so rude about me being a foreigner and asked if my French husband actually spoke French that I walked out. Welcome to France and its funny ways!

same thing happened to me 4 years ago when we first came to France. I put a similar comment on SFN and appeared to be one of the few that had this problem. I had to start from scratch with insurance and they wouldnt count my previous 11 years no claims.

Never had that problem been insured with AXA localy and now Pacifica through Credit Agricol Brit line each time my uk no claims has been eccepted they are just trying it on, tell them to get lost if they are devious about the NCB they will be devious about any claims heading for trouble and heartache there

Hi all. We are with MMA. Our broker said he needed only 9 years NCD, proof of which I had obtained from our insurance company in Dublin before we left. I have fully comp, with OH as named driver and includes breakdown insurance, windscreen replacement, etc. Last year it was €346 and I got a refund of €35 as I hadn't used up all my km allowance. So for this year, he put us on a cheaper package with a lower km allowance for € 283. Hope this helps.

My UK 70% no claims bonus was accepted by credit Agricole, but the most you are allowed here in France is 50%.

So yes, they were trying to pull a fast one.

In one word Yes!

Bet they make an 'exception' if you refuse their offer.

Thanks Elaine; in fact the local agent for Aviva, with whom my UK insurance has been, said much the same thing. So, to make things even worse, Direct Assurance are lying to me.

Probably all of us. I eventually went with Allianz as the local agent was prepared to accept proof of my NCD at 100% as 10 years out of the French maximum 15 years for a full ‘bonus’.
