I think we’re all saying the same thing, albeit in slightly different ways. Porridge will need to register/create a CESU account (and I agree it’s pleasantly simple to use) but will not need to register additionally with URSAAF (ie.that’s already factored into/dealt with via the CESU registration).
do i need to tell them that they will declare me to CESU and give me contract?
Yes that’s best.
CESU will do the contract or they will do the contract?
I think I mentioned previously that the CESU site has model contracts, and your ‘employers’ need to use these, or other models (or lawyers) if they prefer, to prepare the actual customised contracts - if your weekly hours are above the limits set out in my earlier posts (above).
CESU won’t produce the contracts - their platform is there to calculate social security contributions, provide guidance, facilitate compliance,.and also supply model contracts for employers etc.
A footnote to all the above.
I created an account but, when it came to adding our man’s details, couldn’t log in. Each time, it said that either my user name or password was incorrect, yet I had confirmation (when I asked for it, as part of teh account recovery process) that the user name was correct; even when I reset the password, I couldn’t get back in.
It baffled the lady from France Services too, which was reassuring and frustrating. She spoke to someone at CESU and it turned out I hadn’t activated the account in response to an email they had sent me.
(I don’t remember receiving anything, and I’m normally quite well organised, but I couldn’t say definitively that I hadn’t received said email.)
So this is a footnote in case anyone else has the same experience.
It also needs to be noted that it is a 2 step process, you set up your account but then you also have to activate the cesu+ to get the immediate 50%reduction. Once you request that it takes 24 hours or something to be activated so you need to not pay anyone in that period or you’ll be hit with the lot!
Thanks for that, @toryroo - I’ll not open the bottle of crémant yet!!
