Marseille and Lyon - depends how you count the number of inhabitants but I always thought it was around 1.2 million for both (they're always trying to out do each other for 2nd place so perhaps they always publish the greater lyon/greater marseille figures!) City living certainly has its advantages but it's not everyone's cup of tea ;-)
For me city does not equate with living!
The quality of life in France is very good, there is so many beautiful cities and places where to leave. You can either live in a big city or far from cities, I’m sure you’ll love visit (and live in) France!
