Also known as “on someone else’s computer”.
I already got a heads up from one of my banks to keep an eye on my account, “just in case”, but nothing from Banque de France or DGFIP so far.
That explains the extra flash page that appears first on my CA app
mentioning cybersecurity
Probably rather late in the day, but I’m now redacting bank account details from the various justificatifs that I need to send to agencies like ANEF (eg for CdS). I simply don’t trust them to keep my banking data safe anymore, in the light of seemingly endless data breaches at government agencies…
And it may take 6 or 12 months to start (while our details are being circulated and sold off kn the dark web, presumably. But then the tail of fake rmais and fake sms’s will go on for years
In fact I think I’ve just understood why governnents are not ensuring punishment of a level that will hurt the companies who time and time again fail to safeguard our data. And why only fines (that after large headline amounts are routinely negotiated down so companies pay only a tiny fraction of theheadllined fine amount) are levied and why there is not legislation in place for at least a 3-figure sum to be paid to the actual victim - which would startto reflect actual damages.
It’s clear now that governments know they are also.guilty. And probably even more guilty in that they demand the most sensitive and comprehensive personal data from us.
So now we know why govsrnment hasn’t put proper legislation and compensation in place for firms that leak personal data because governments know they’re as guilty.
