Hi Jane,
My congratulations to your grandson.
You have reminded me of the outdoor pool where I learned to swim. The golden net of ripples on the ice blue water - it was love at first sight! Been swimming ever since.

Mike don't share your "secrets" or they won't be secrets any more, share your tips and advice by all means ;-)
I spoke to some retired members of the STA on your behalf and they remember teaching drownproofing 30 years ago but admit they are not sure if it is taught now. No active members of the STA were around so I will wait until the next meeting on the 20th when there will be more of them around.
Jane, any chance of a picture of your pool? dark liners are only just coming into vogue but are more popular in Italy. The pool picture on the pool group page has been up for a long time and it would be nice to have a change or even a slide show if James can arrange that?
My four old grandchild has just achieved being able to swim a length on his own.
I love swimming, but have my own individual style as I have a damaged back.
We have a beautiful pool with a dark liner which gives us a marbled effect when the sun shines and helps with heating the pool.
Let’s hope we can have better weather this summer and can swim for longer than the two months that we had last year.
