Thanks for the straightforward, sound, advice. It was all a bit confusing back in 2020, I thought the 2021 date was relevant , but I thought I’d better check.

Unfortumnately I changed my address to same as wifes when she did her renawal so mine shows a 6/1/2026 start date I hope this doesn’t cause a problem You think you are doing the right thing and then later you find out it was wrong. Did loads of address changes as didn’t want post going to house we sold.
It won’t make any difference now as you must submit an exchange.
Once you leave the UK the DVLA do not care, the address on your licence is no longer relevant.
What you can do is send a message to the DVLA advising of leaving the UK and this stops correspondence going to an address you are no longer legally registered to.
Unfortunately too many people are not aware of this.
Anyhow you need to exchange now and your wife submits hers in March 2028.

Thanks for everything I just finished my application It is not straightforward so many things to send and not clear which sections to put docs in. but they have everything so fingers crossed.
As long as you uploaded the obvious ones in the obligatory sections and your DVLA document and your renounce letter if you’re not keeping your C1/D1, I assume you have them as grandad rights, in the 7 additional documents at the bottom of the upload page you’ll be fine. If you didn’t you will be asked them at some point but it does slow your application down.
It should have been:
Domicile - utility bill if your address wasn’t picked up automatically.
CdS or visa stamp in passport as ID
Medical or renounce
DVLA attestation
You may be asked for birth cert, your wife absolutely has to upload one.
CdS or visa goes in 183 normal residence section.
ePhoto code
That should have been it.
Yes they have all those inc birth cert as I use a middle confirmation name which is not on my birth cert but is on passport. I was given multiple options of where residency doc goes I think it is in the right one as it asked for OFFI letter as well.
