In the summer we don’t need the water so hot and it stays warmer for longer too.
As I said we have a little tank under our sink for hot water there. That’s is left on constantly.

Absolutely, I lined the water cylinder box with rigid reflective foam and the water stays hot for 2 days after switching off with normal usage. Obviously heavy usage would mean cold water inrush would reduce any saving
