Helpful. I will use these to demonstrate my wife’s continuous residence in France for 5 years and…
…as with John, I will use Veolia bills to (separately) prove my own residence every 6 months over 5 years.
Purely speculation on my part but this is what the EU wants for people renewing their EU permanent residents CdS, and if France wants to be nice to WARP CdS holders, it might follow this model…
This reads as if the ANEF platform is an EU platform that you would urge France to copy. In fact ANEF is the French government’s own digital platform - Administration numérique pour les étrangers en France. It is part of France’s project to digitize public services, along with ANTS, Identité Numérique etc and has been a long time in development, in fact the WARP exercise back in 2020 was an early deployment. Initially it only dealt with a couple of types of titres as it was developed and refined, then other types were added gradually, and I believe the process has now been brought entirely online for every current cds type. I imagine it will not be difficult to add WARP renewals when the time comes.
Sorry to bore but I have followed France’s digital rollout with interest, I find it quite impressive.
Me too, it’s all moving digital and even the responsiveness of ANTS seems to have improved recently too.
I don’t actually need a CdS but I got one anyway so that I can have a digital Carte Vital All done online apart from a fingerprint session. I pick up the CdS on the 9th.
Having used me as a pilot I’ll embark on a CdS or my wife next.
Apologies - perhaps I should have been clearer - I was specifically trying to highlight the renewal process for the EU permanent resident CdS - which is very light touch - not the ANEF platform, which I’m fully aware is a French government site. I agree the latter is quite impressive.
Well, that is how France has transposed the EU directive pertaining to that particular titre. I do not know that the EU got as far as laying down guidelines for WARP renewal processes? But no doubt France will do what it sees fit. Jane’s link is reassuring.
That’s as I thought. However the EU is responsible for ensuring that the rights of those protected under the Agreement are not infringed, so whatever processes a member state or indeed the UK implements, those rights must be respected.
Or 6 months a year for holders of 5 year WARP cards (I assume you are referring to permitted absences?). Although personally I would be surprised if France is rigid on this.
Yes of course and there are procedures in place but by individual countries to rectify this. Generally it’s by going through your own country consulate.
We’ve already had to intervene using this route for people with their original application.
It’s 6 months per year or 1 year exceptional circumstances for those under 5 years, I was referring to the fact you have complied with the rules for 5 years.
How rigid, not sure they would know but if you lie and are caught out the penalties are high, and I’m afraid I’m in the camp of if you haven’t remotely abided by the rules, why should you be entitled to a renewal.
