Eurotunnel - what food are you allowed to take?

Just wanted to thank everyone who gave advice on my question of taking tinned beans over to France. All seems a bit irrelevant given today’s worrying news  Stay safe everyone :rainbow:

It is an unusual one. It affects my lungs - in extremis, I stop breathing!

Sorry to hear that Brian, stopping breathing, quite frightening I imagine, sort of Anaphylaxis?
Auto immune disease?

Just an allergy…

Tell your friends to make their own tomato soup - Heinz means nothing. 2 cans italian tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper, onion, potato, chili powder - take care , very little - cook the onions in oil till softening, chuck in eveyrthing else, salt, pepper, rinse tomato cans with water to add if needed, simmer 10 mins, put in the whizzer, oh my, delicious.

Ooo that’s scary. But at least you know how to avoid it. Take care :sunglasses:

That sounds yummy Kate. Personally, I’m a great fan of proper home made soup and all that lycopene in those toms is so good for you. Thanks for sharing

If you want it like Heinz just chuck in a load of sugar. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

And cornflour etc, and take out anything with any intrinsic flavour

I know I am unfair to HTS, we used to go to Glenshee to ski once a week when I was at prep school and they gave us HTS on the bus but as I was extremely car and bus-sick it just bounced out again, and matron knew that but I was still obliged to consume it. HTS puked-up in the snow looks awful. So I loathe it.

(And beans but that is because they are an abomination, sitting disgustingly on the breakfast plate polluting the lovely black pudding/square sausage/eggs etc).

Baked bean juice, the worst argh noooo

So I take it I’ve to cancel the order then :laughing::wink:

I would take beans - even cold - over a fried egg, any day. We each have our own likes and dislikes.

I once was staying with my Aunt on her farm, we have fresh cured bacon for breakfast she said, do you like eggs she asked, to which I replied yes.
Come breakfast I had one fried tattie scone, one piece of bacon, one square sausage, two fried eggs, two poached eggs and scrabbled egg, just as well I liked eggs :yum::laughing:

yes. only meat and dairy prohibited. so you can bring over as many tins as you like… and tea…

just animal products and dairy… last time I checked baked beans didn’t fit into that category… any tinned products are fine and we bring over loads of tea - although you can keep the baked beans… available in most supermarkets here anyway… :grinning:

Poached eggs are infinitely superior, food of the gods.

Edited so baked beans bear their rightful name in quotation

Without wishing to get too technical, the smell of eggs in any form that’s recognisably egg reminds my nostrils of upset tummies. In the name of science I once ate a fried egg (head back, don’t think about it and don’t let it hit the sides) but I’d rather eat Andouillette (which I have also done).

We’re all different.

:rofl::rofl: yes indeed. My Mum used to say, if you ate more than one egg at a time “you’ll be egg bound “
