French Etiquette

my friends are never on time - I always expect them at least half an hour after the invite.

I love that statement about time being more flexible the further South you go. It sums France up quite well. For the old bisous question, I tend to take the lead from the other person.

In business there is a trend towards the dress as you wish for the more blue chip companies, but financial types still would be expected to be dressed "business like" - if that makes sense.

Of course (assuming you are French) - there is simply no excuse for the French language you’ve used - just not funny. It may simply be that you don’t want to understand that your behaviour is annoying for British people…???
