You’re lucky Jane. Both of us now are in a regime of regular check-ups and scans and blood tests, eg:
We’re only in March and so far this year it’s been:
OH: vein doctor (and he’s back again next week), MT twice, blood test, scan, dentist
Me: dentist (and he wants to see me in three months), eye specialist (and he wants to see me in three months), MT.
Plus of course the regular prescriptions for our various medicaments.
And the yearly check-ups from my cardiologist and his urologist.
Mind you, I’d rather have it that way. It’s how we know how well we are doing. It’s a good job we are fit and healthy!
On reflection, I realise I am being overly miserable about this. The hospital costs rankle still, hence my bad mood. But as @JaneJones mentioned, we too are both ALD, which means (of course) the check ups by the specialists, MT and medicaments for the conditions we have are covered by the state.
Eyes and teeth on the other hand are costing us a fair amount these days - sadly.
I honestly think you need to review and possibly upgrade.
We’ve got a mid to upper level policy with Swiss life (arranged by the epic @fabien of course) and are never out of pocket despite hefty dental bills. And my last pair of glasses cost over 600 and I paid 20 . Ok, almost never out of pocket!
Yes, I think mutuelle prices do increase with age. There are many restrictions on mutuelle providers but I think this is allowed.
Edit: A quick google, including an article by fabien shows that mutuelle costs do increase with age.
