Hi … don’t know. All I can add is that it took ambient water in and gave warmed water out.
What’s the make / model then ?
I do have a gaz/gaz GSHP which is 14 years old and one circuit has failed and another needs attention. Looking at getting it fixed but if it can’t have it’s gas topped up on service after 2030 then I need to think about a new one. Unfortunately the gaz/gaz systems that use thenewer gasses are like rocking horse
Although some old gases are not available for use or top up ups, some units subject to a minor mod can use one of the newer gasses. Most dealers wont say that as they want to sell a new unit.
Yes, I’ve heard the same or similar. The trouble is getting a heating engineer to admit this and do the work to modify. The existing system (Enalsa) probably won’t last long as it uses LG compressors that are notorious for breaking. Earlier models using Danfoss compressors are very reliable. Not going to try to do this myself. The only options I’ve found is to have new Danfoss compressors installed or go for a new unit by a French company called Retropac.
At least I have both loops of the heat pump already done so it’s a case of just removing the old gas, removing the old equipment, installing the new unit and commissioning it.
At least you would have the latest control equipment with a new unit including weather compensation which is key to getting an efficient and comfortable running system with cost savings on the running costs.
Just had a TV program on them here - apparently 3 x cost of an air pump and good but need land and people don’t have it in this country.
Really want solar power + battery + one of the 2 heat pumps - need to see if there’re any governmental subsidies to help us get 'em when in Foix. Myself and wife want to try and go [close to] moneyless.

If you want to watch … … …
Here’s a BBC one (use a VPN (SurfShark)to pretend you’re here) -
A Channel 5 one:

^^^ show us installation of air and ground source in this episode.
Hairbear … it’s made by KERAM and the model is WRB09.
Not if you can go vertical with pipework.
Thanks. Looks like that’s a water/water GSHP although I can’t find any info on that model online.
Hooo! Don’t let that nice M Macron hear you say that! Life in France now is all about turning the economy, by whatever means. Bear in mind that heat pumps are fuelled by electricity. Looking to photovoltaic and batteries to provide that is a non starter, firstly because heat pumps take a lot of juice on start up and also because just when you need PV production the most, in winter, it’s at it’s lowest. There are companies running virtual battery schemes but you need to choose carefully and it’s still not free! There’s a lot to take into consideration!
The OP (me) asked for any experience re. borehole drilling for a GSHP. Well off-topic now - any replies to OQ?
Hubby is currently (re)researching all the options here. If we get a rig in to go vertical we’ll probably get a well done too as we are over lots of sources. We spoke to a neighbour last summer and I think he said he’d paid 400e for his to be drilled last spring.
I might message my neighbour and I’ll pass on any info we find. We are about an hour north of you but I imagine Bergerac will be where they’ll be!
Thats how a friend in Wales got his. The chap turned up to dig his well and suggested for another 2 days £600 springs to mind he could bore several more holes (not through rock though) and that how he got his gshp. Never looked back as the savings in his heating bills was fantastic.
good point!
