How to deal with vintage motorbike after parent deceased

I’ve just realised that it’s going to be impossible to register in France as you need the entire V5C, not just the export certificate.

No problem, the only issue is with the frame, if the bike was registered in the UK. Even the engine wouldn’t be an issue. Have a look at the prices for the bits and pieces you can sell on eBay and bon coin. There is probably a french owners club or forum for it too.

Hello again. I’m pleased that you are getting stuff sorted.
You haven’t mentioned what sort of property your dad had . . . . so, just a thought, it is very common in France for all sorts of stuff to be left in a house. This ranges from furniture to equipment and relics in outbuildings. When I bought my current house 23 years ago there was horse tack; a wooden yolk; and an iron hay-cutter.
The flipside is that a buyer could ask for the house to be cleared - but if the owner had died, no notaire would give that any truck.

Hello, yes there is a very convenient motorbike sized gap between walls about 3 foot wide in the garage that I’m giving serious thoughts to parking it in, although we are going to need to come from the UK to collect some stuff anyway so in theory can bring it back but it’ll just be a pain and probably cost more than it’s worth!
