LLMs are being lauded for providing a lot of benefits, many of which were evolving anyway. No doubt the new level of investment has driven faster and deeper use of the technology for many beneficial and some malign purposes. However, I have no doubt this “new greatest thing” will also implode, as have all NGTs I’ve seen in the forty plus years I’ve been a participant and latterly an observer in the industry.

I think it could be very messy it’s embedded in a lot of stuff and big bets have been made on it. Might be time for me to actually read this book I bought in 2002
