See my comment above about distinction and refinement.
Today’s trivia fact; The head of the UK Secret Service, aka MI6, known as “C”, only writes in green ink in homage to a practice started by the very first chief of MI6, Sir George Mansfield Smith-Cumming.
(He signed himself “C” which is why the chief is always known as “C”).
When Ian Fleming wrote the Bond books he changed the letter from “C” to “M”.
I have always marvelled at the way left handed people write, most often with the hand crooked round to write from the top. As I often think that a fountain pen user has to avoid pushing the nib, how do lefties manage this task?
Left-hand nib.
Really Whatever will they think of next.
“Eclipse” is a Diamine and somewhere is “Writer’s Blood”. And a lovely copper-coloured one, perhaps also by Diamine.
I had a Schaefer pen (spelling??) at school which I always kept in my inside blazer pocket, which meant the pen was always upside down in the pocket, which caused the nib to dry out. When I needed to use it in class I had to shake it to get the ink into the nib. Several of my classmates had turquoise patches at the back of their head and I doubt they knew it was from me sitting behind them.
No, you’re ok, it is always spelled like that.
Sheaffer.
Yes, Sheaffer. I had one in a pen & pencil set as a 21st birthday gift
