Well, that leaves you with the choice of waiting for your cable or getting a satellite connection. Whoever your 'provider' for the telephone is, you still have to wait for France Télécom, same as Orange but for the sakes of the lines they juggle with names. Do you have a line and pole/pylon nearby? If not then you may wait far longer than you would wish. If satellite is interesting have a look at www.tooway.fr . The left hand side will let you choose language if you can't handle the French. There are some UK and Dutch owned companies installing who, I believe, are pretty fast but then you need to search where you are located rather than half way across France.
