Is there such a thing a decent rewireable French plug?

They’ve used a 220V spurs for cookers, water heaters and A/C for a while now.

The wire nuts and exposed terminals used inside of metal boxes in the US gives me hives just thinking about them.

Leroy Merlin have a large range. External, internal, flat with wire at right angle, with loop to pull. All there.

The ones without that little loop have been banned from our house!

Watch out for the ones not sold by LM though - if you go to their web site you will be told “2000” results for “Fiche électrique” but it drops to just 64 if you tick the “Vendu par Leroy Merlin” filter. Add in “male” and “2P+T” and it drops by more than half to 25 (of which a further 5 need to be discounted).

In all 20 but, yes, I think that does include enough variants, including a couple with right angle entry which look as though they might be a bit better than the ones from Amazon

I would invariably purchase these items in the shop not on line .. Our local Brico Marche tends to be expensive and with a limited range ..but always very good or best quality..and espically in electrical and plumbing connections

I have ordered from Screwfix France on occasion. Delivery has been about the same as other web orders, ie if 1 day in the UK then 2 in France.

Does anyone like me buy a decent Legrand (or similar) brass pin plug for higher wattage equipment? Steel pinned plugs just don’t feel right to me though I’m happy to use them for lamps and similar.

Are they really steel, not a nickel plate on brass? Never actually attacked one but steel would be a poor choice.
