My great grandmother (who used to come back from Indo-China usually by boat once a year from the 20s to the 50s) told me that on one trip in the 30s a chap fell overboard in the S. China Sea and was found after 2 days frightfully burnt but alive. He had just floated on his back in a star shape. Consequently I had it drummed into me from about the age of 2 that if/when I fell off a boat that was what I should do and we practised every day in the sea off Monte Carlo.

Good advice you had Vero, But it wouldn’t have helped when I was there once, you reminded me of being there in a typhoon, it wasn’t funny
Maybe keep it strapped to your body at all times just in case
That’s the theory, it’s really small and easy to put into a pocket, it’s just getting into the habit of doing so every time.
