Youāre being induced on the 12th, did you say? And you arenāt in hospital yet? If you have eg preeclampsia but no fitting you could probably make it to London, obviously other sorts of HRP would have their own prerequisites.

I think the huge problem for you from a Fr notaire point of view is that they will want to see you and go through a process rather than just sign off papers. I havenāt got anyone to hand who would.

If I might offer a perspective from a legal professional (but not a notary). What you are asking is quite a significant demand with potentially high risks, for a notary, in relation to a point of law that is seen as fundamental in France - the legal name of the child. Notaries need to be comfortable with the documentation that you are providing and the legal consequences associated with that, and additionally be comfortable about the language used, which may not reflect the usual language found in the French legal system. This is probably why it is difficult to find a notary or specialist legal advisor that would be comfortable signing off on what you require. It is also quite an unusual demand, and I would wager that not many notaries would be familiar with the vagaries of other naming cultures.
You might also be aware that naming of children is a particularly hot topic in France at the moment, given that a number of Prefectures have refused to accept the registrations of child births for something as simple as a tilde above a letter, cultural origins be damned. Obviously, if a notary signs off on these kind of requests, and it is refused by the Prefecture, as a representative of the state, the notary will be first in line for a ticking off. This might be the reason for the lack of engagement you have encountered so far.

Thank you for your perspective.
I have actually done it, and the signed and stamped document written in French was sent by email to the Town Hall yesterday. I spoke to the āChef du service Etat civilā directly to ensure the document satisfies their requirements which it does, and has been confirmed in writing.
I am collecting the original later this afternoon as I will need to present the original at the hospital and the Town Hall for the āacte de naissanceā.
I didnāt receive the recommendation via SurviveFrance but from a friendās husband who had forgotten to respond to me. He sent me their recommendation on Monday. It cost me 600 euros, far less than what I was expecting. I was expecting in the mid-four figure range.
