Actually, there is 'talk' of testing people already in the UK if they are not working. To avoid the question of prejudice they are making it a level playing field by asking ALL new or non-working migrants rather than just Bulgarians and Romanians.
As for paranoia, no way, it is keeping an eye on the ball. That is a big difference m'dear. Having agreed with you several times (OK, I didn't comment each time) how refreshing to be back on our old ground ;-)
