Did you climb trees as a youngster? I remember, but remember more climbing bombed out buildings. But this photo reminded me that I did when a tree looked climbable.
Have a long long interactive look at this tree by invite from the NYTs.
I’d be tempted to climb from one of those low-lying branches. But caution at my age would probably say no! And probably not allowed.
When looking at textured surfaces I quite often see faces and I see near the middle of the tree an elephant’s eye. You have to let your imagination loose.

Today’s trivia fact: this bit of human pattern recognition is called pareidolia.
It accounts for people seeing faces and other constructs in photos of Mars, for example. like the famous Monkey Face which “appeared” in photos taken by US spacecraft Viking 1 in 1976:

When I came to live in my French home the internal walls were stone and my only company were a couple of house flies circling a bare light bulb which cast light and shadows on the craggy stone walls in the evenings, full of faces. Great fun!

Auditory pareidolia? Didn’t know about that – not experienced it. When it’s hot enough and the fan’s going I’ll have a listen.
Can anyone see what I see? I see a modern African elephant’s eye and part face, and to its right a mammoth neck, face, eye, smaller ears as they had, and trunk. The frilly ivy on top is its hairy head hair.
I read that Pareidolia is common in those with Parkinson’s and Dementia. I’ve had Pareidolia since forever so it’s not that!

Yes, sorry to be confusing. On reading your post I looked further and found that there is audio pareidolia, which I’ve not experienced - hearing voices or other familiar sounds in the sound of car engines, the drone of fans and the like.

Seeing patterns is probably an evolutionary advantage. We learn where to find food or avoid risk from signs or patterns. There may be some downside from seeking food that isn’t there, but not too much.
Edit: Casinos like those who see patterns and predict the next winning number etc too

Anyway the UN is to stop using the Mercator projection for thr world map. It is to use a projection that more accurately portrays the area of countries. UN votes to adopt new world map to reflect Africa's true size - BBC News
It does make clearer what many find surprising, that even the Sahara Desert alone is larger than the contiguous US states.
