What’s reasonably priced? Water and CH or just CH?

And …sorry …do you know if it needs a double flue? Access to the chimney to reline is evil

Ive been waiting on the condensing/biofuel models reaching sane prices.

For me it’s just central heating out with the old & in with the new condensing boiler, basically adapting the pipe work & flue, my flue is 125 so I have plenty of room to put up a pipe up though & for the condensats I need to drill a hole through a wall for evacuation.
A friend of mine bought something similar for 250€ in great nick. But that was a bargin the peeps selling didn’t know the value and wanted to go all electric ? Look for anything in the gamme for around 700€

They weren’t interested in coming to the house or my detailed plans with all walls, windows, doors etc with thermal calculations

Typical, sadly a lot of companies taking that route after all they will actually pocket the grant and most would still end up paying the correct amount if there was no grant

Sadly for this kind of work here in France you have the commercial bods & then the fitters, the commercial bods must work off a spread sheet… Construction type, age ²m maybe volume?? have roof insulation double glazing, who gives a F on geo location whether N, S ou E, W etc. Access & exiting pipework & availability of electrical supply. Tick a few boxes & voila the price everythings covered except the resulting efficiency.
These France Reno’vs can be good for some but a financial loss in the short and long term for others even if fully funded. IIRC they insisted that they remove & take away my oil burner, Yeah try that one son! I’ll plomb in a by pass.
