I took early retirement and promised my mother that I wouldn’t leave the country until she died. Happily I have two sisters so we shared the care between us but it was quite a frustrating time so recognise the difficulty. I did a lot of shuttling back and forth.
However, lots of time to perfect your French, clear out the attic and write many lists.
I have three siblings but my middle brother lives in America, my sister lives in Kent so is a bit far away to help out on a regular basis, and my youngest brother is nearby but has a family, so he helps from time to time but the main care burden falls on me. It is what it is.
Yup! I’m doing A and C but definitenly need to do B - I have too much camera and lighting gear that I don’t need!
They would be making a big mistake if they did. ![]()
That could be part of it, if its a wall of glass, tripple glazing is the way to go. Likewise producing shade above the glass to keep the direct heat away. All of this and other measures should be the responsibility of the designers, unfortunately some build to tick boxes on a gov type sheet without real thought.
