No, Ovomsltine has a totally different flavour from Ovaltine. ![]()
I got even more picky with my food in my early teens. For a year or two I only had a cup of Ovaltine for lunch. Then I went off it, but started again when I moved to Switzerland. I don’t remember there being that many ingredients in those days. They’ve obviously made a lot of improvements since then! Wasn’t there originally some kind of egg product in it, hence the “Ovo” part of the name?
I used to like Horlicks too. Is that still around?
Nowadays I sometimes fancy a hot chocolate, made with loads of organic full-fat cocoa powder stirred with a bit of boiling water into a paste, then hot, not boiling, full-cream organic milk, and no sugar. Delish! ![]()
I’ll never forget what it said on the Horlicks jar, “boiling the milk spoils the benefits of the beverage”. A nice alliteration.
Ahh, real hot chocolate ![]()
