To lower the alkalinity add hydrochloric from brico shed to lower the pH to about 6.8. Then cause the maximum amount of aeration you can, by pointing jets towards the surface or an air pump etc.
That will raise the pH but leave the alkalinity. You will need to repeat this several times, I did this until my alkalinity got down to around 40-50ppm and then I have only added acid to reduce the pH once in 3 years. Forget the pool industry and its 120ppm they want your pH to keep rising as it is good for sales.
