Posting parcels to UK (again)

Oh dear, it’s that time of year again; after avoiding the issue for some time we are now faced with the latest obstacle course from Customs. success with most of it BUT we have come to the bit that requires invoices;

we have filled in as ‘particulars’ and declared less than 100euros (T-shirt and leather purse, total 30euros) but we can’t move on without invoices. When we follow the link for invoices it only gives a history of LaPoste invoices for transactions carried out with them. Any helpful suggestions would be very welcome - anything that avoids physically carrying the parcel back to UK. Also, for those who have not done the new system yet, be aware that customs want a full detailed description of items including sizes, materials and country of manufacture. Besr to know before you seal the package!

Dare I ask - why not buy online in UK and have the presents sent from there?

That’s what I do now. So much less hassle.

However last year I wanted to send a handmade present to the UK. The lady at my local La Poste told me to go online to make a ‘déclatarion CN23’ which I did on my phone in the car outside and came back in. If memory serves, I showed her my phone screen which I think she scanned and Bob, as they say, was my Mother’s Brother.
