Yes, I do know that, thank you Véronique, I’m sorry to have been confusing, I only wrote “optician” because it’s the word we tend to use in UK for both and it’s shorter than opthalmologist! I’ll be more specific in any further posts.

Sorry! And it is made confusing by the fact that in the UK there are (still, presumably) ophthalmic opticians which I think we don’t really have here.

Aren’t these in USA?

Zenni’s website is in the USA, but the specs are made in China. And they are very good.
I suspect that practically all frames come from China anyway, as well as the blanks from which they grind the lenses.

We have a new opticians opened in town which only/mainly sell frames and lenses made locally - we are in an area where this was is a significant industry that is fading. I hope they are successful as we need the employment…
