That!s good. I wonder how many places do that as makes it much more relevant.

But unless in a very large place, one could do both?

They read the lot… we are only a small commune and it makes (perhaps) even more of an impact to hear the same family names again and again… from one war after another… so many shattered families… it goes on and on…
and, of course the recent deaths are equally deplored…

This is not a joyous occasions… we do usually share a drink and chat with the old soldiers and listen to them reminiscing… and see their faces sadden as they recall an event or horrific moment…
No-one is glorifying conflict/war… quite the reverse.

Overall, the War which saddens them most is Algeria… according to the old soldiers… French were fighting against French… :sob: :sob:

Even in our very small Commune in Trivy we have a name on the war memorial of a young man killed in Mali.
