Are you asking me? I got my Lebara FR and Prixtel SIMS online.
Yes I was asking you, thanks for responding.
It seems that our village are complaining that now Orange have taken over they have been doing stuff. The closest mast is being taken off line for a couple of days and service has been interrupted so far.
There are often cashback offers too on new SIMs. eg igraal.fr I have found to be the most honest and reliable for paying out though usually lower %, widilo if youâre game to have nothing track when every other cashback site tracks and pays with the same setup, also ebuyclub can be ok ish.
Iâve had pretty good experience with Poulpeo.
I gave them Poulpeo a couple of tries but as with many cashback sites their lack of honesty was an issue. On an SNCF transaction, with full screenshots screen by screen provided, and all levels of conditions checked and photographed, they later denied payment as I wasnât a first time user for SNCF. Certainly it was the first time via their site, but not generally.
In any case this requirement had not appeared in any level of the ts and cs and I had checked them. Poulpeo even agreed it wasnât in the ts and cs anywhere.. And it wasnât.
A British company except the most scurrilous would have paid with such evidence. This introducing of new conditions and limitations to a done deal where they were not part of the original terms seems to be a very French thing. I donât understand it.
I told Poulpeo to close the account.
Iâve been using a Prixtel sim in my router with an external antenna for a couple of years now â 200gb data per month for âŹ10/ month, no complaints so far. I use all streaming services with no issues. Hope the move doesnât have any effect on my current contract ![]()
It was SNCF that didnât pay up, and I suppose Poulpeo didnât see why they should pay for it. I donât rely on any cashback site paying up. Martin Lewis recommends not to base your choice on how much cashback you get. Consider it a bonus. Up to now Poulpeo has paid up mostly, and thatâs ok by me.
Probably. But conditions as published need to be honoured. Otherwise why bother?
Yes, of course, but do you think igraal or ebuy in the same circumstances would have behaved any differently? Weâre in France, come on!
Btw the British cashback site Topcashback, recommended by Martin Lewis, now has an .fr site.
Never had any problem with igraal. I rate them as honest and reliable. Rare for a cashback site.
You didnât answer my question. Never mind. I donât want to denigrate igraal, I use it too. But some offers are not on both sites, so I check both.
Sorry, thought your question was rhetorical and more your stating your view so didnât need an answer.
Yes, I have had incidents where igraal did the decent thing. Which has gained my loyalty. Feedback from others on French forums tends to reinforce igraal as the most reliable although % are lower.
Ok, good to know. As the sums involved are usually not earth-shattering, I donât think I would bother.
