Signs of Spring?

I think it was one warm night last year that we discovered a large toad wallowing in the bird bath.
having hopped across the grass to reach it.

Hundreds of Grue passed over us in the Vienne on Thursday. All heading North.
Very early again. It was only late November that they were going South .

You just missed them, we often spot them the same day, I saw 2 lots early evening in the past week.

Bergerac today, daffodils and heaven knows what flowering stuff… magnificent.
Butterflies fluttering and birds twittering. Saw a Great Egret standing in a field, then a bit further down the road there was a Grey Heron, similarly standing absolutely still. Perhaps each was trying to fool its prey that it wasn’t really there

Little Owl was waiting at the entrance to our village when we got back late afternoon. :+1:

but still not a single Grue … aargh.

They are going over my house now! Stick you head outside in an hour :rofl::rofl:

Here in the Alpes Maritime, I noticed a white tailed bumblebee. The cypress pollen is also starting, which seems quite early and our mimosa has been out for a week now.
