Something For The Garden!

As you may know, I spent last week in the UK with my dad and despite one emergency heart op, a death and a nasty collision with a cyclist that ended in stitches and a trip to A&E amongst my close family members, we still had a good time.
Luckily my dad is a very hale and hearty 86 but he is not as strong as he was so when I go over I always try and do some useful stuff that might involve a bit of ‘grunt’.
Last week’s task was pruning some very large shrubs and he had very cleverly found these. Basically they are just as effective as the telescopic versions but MUCH easier to use especially for women or older people who may not have the same upper body strength as a strong bloke. I got the lot done in a couple of hours and I’ve ordered a pair for chez nous.
Having been attacked over the years by the handles coming ‘unlocked’ on numerous occasions by the telescopic versions, I am a total convert. These are much easier to use and I was really impressed with the quality for the price.
They dealt with everything other than three huge branches which required a pruning saw.
The link above is to Amazon.fr and HERE is a link to the UK site.
Happy pruning.

Hi Cat

Following the link just wondering why such a big price difference France . Uk 12.99 France 22.98 ? Plus not sure if you bought the standard or vintage which are 40 odd ? Lol cant even see a difference but need read fine print .

Plus Uk one says about gear drive cutting system but not the one on Amazon FR ..

A lot of stuff is more expensive on Amazon France, sometimes much more so, but there are some that are cheaper. I guess it partly depends on where they are imported to first (it nearly all comes from China of course) and the shipping into/out of the EU carries admin and other costs. Ah, Brexit, eh?

Have you thought about electric pruners? They do all the heavy lifting for you, except for lifting the pruners themselves. Lidl do a really good pair of 20v if you are already a user of their batter range, or a smaller pair with built in battery. Both are a good price and surprisingly muscular, unlike me these days!

Hiya, no idea re the price difference and maybe I got the French one wrong but the Uk link is definitely the pair my dad bought and I used and they are excellent!
