Yes… and using freely available ventilation can sometimes be a good idea… it all depends on the set-up.
Yes when you have burnt a pizza but uncontrolled ventilation wastes heat outside of the summer months. Exchanging the air whilst retaining most of the heat is the way the world is moving.
You could get a lovely Størvatt and put it possibly under an auvent or something like that although the flue pipe might be tricky.

Looked at these a few years ago, not cheap, but very “hygge”, unless you’re the person who has to start the fire and keep it topped up in the freezing cold beforehand
Pellet burner? Self feeding and controlable.
Then one can get into a debate about the esthetics of having a pellet burning stove powered by electricity and a “twue” wood burning stove
Easily settled by the poor bugger that has to get out and re stoke the fire.
