They look so clean and lonely
Actually there is currently zero availability almost anywhere - delivery times showing 3-5 months. We’ve been looking for one for my daughter for days now and there is nothing available.
Aldi is German like Lidl, and Action is Dutch. I bet they just get stuff from the same laogai as everyone else.
I’m very tidy. Even a tad OCD in the Symmetry and Order sense. Might come from too much programming in my formative years
A comma in the wrong place and all hell could break loose.
Yep, been there done that.
Then we turn to the Brico sheds and Depot, just try getting parts or info for their Titan range, at least with the others there is a contact and service centres
do you have a spare for Shiba Roger?
Shiba if the replacement they gave you doea not run on same batteries as the original then it’s nor a replacemsnt. Why not see if they’ll provide the correct item?
I think most of it’s Grizzly now - my stuff seens to be all Grizzly. Grizzly is fairly highly rated it seems.
Reminds me when my brother visited many years ago from his home in the Pas de Calais and we went to Buffalo Grill. He said his same restaurant was called Grizzly Grill, same company different name for different franchises. Sadly both are gone now. Here we are again, food! LOL
It does use the same battery size as the original but they do not supply the battery or charger again because they cost more than the tool itself. I think we shall make do with just the one and have to keep charging when not being used outside because I know if I spend a good €50 for a spare, the tool will most likely blow up again.
There’s probably a spare charger (or two
) lying around, and maybe a battery. But I think they could cost more to post than to buy new. I see delivery for batteries on the Lidl site is only €1.99. And you have to put warning labels (I don’t know where you get them) because there’s Li-ion inside. Now if she was next door
She could have my bench mounted band saw as well.
So Shiba, if I understand correctly, you bought a grinder with charger and battery in the store and the grinder was faulty. You sent it back and they sent you a replacement grinder but no battery or charger?
No, I bought it online from their site hence the bigger heavier battery they don’t freely sell in the shops as they can make a killing from them online more. The replacement arrived in the same sized plastic suitcase but had no moulding spaces. for battery or charger inside and no instruction book either so they obviously keep them in stock knowing the tools are not going to last long. I sold a lot of really professional tools before I moved as did not need them nor my son, no call for three compressors and nail guns etc. Talking of batteries in the post, watched Deep Sea earlier this week and that was caused by a lithium charger attached to a tablet thing the passenger had deliberately smuggled into his hold bag and when it passed through the scanner and lit up like a xmas tree, the man supposed to be watching the screen was playing a game on his phone.
Would you not go back to them Shiba saying what the shipped wasn’t a direct replacement for what you bought. I don’t think Lidl care one way or the other about a battery here or a charger there. I think they just shipped the wrong thing to you.
TBH Can’t be bothered and the staff locally always look bad tempered anyway, standard Lidl expression these days! If this machines goes, I will go to BDepot and get a Titan, some of their stuff isn’t bad for the money and you find the batteries in the shop too
On the subject of “standard batteries” for cordless devices, I try and stick with the Bosch “Power For All” ones, which are also compatible with a few other brands:
Bosch stuff is very good anyway.
In the UK at least there are tight restrictions on shipping lithium batteries if they are not inside the device they belong to. Royal Snail won’t accept them at all, and many parcel shipping services won’t either if you are a domestic customer as opposed to a retail or wholesale supplier.
I assume France would be similar.
We are cursing as we left both our very good fans in our gîte when we left the Jura thinking there would be no need in Normandy ![]()
