Suspended wooden floor insulation

I have one of those. Essential at times.

:slightly_smiling_face:

We did almost everything with a Stanley yankee (pump) screwdriver before cordless. These were famous for trapping the web of your thumb at the bottom of the spiral as you pumped it. I still have a medium yankee but rarely use it now. We hung doors with them and did big assemblies. I recall screw/gluing slotted 2" silicon bronze c/sunk screws every 8" along the 31ft panel sides of my boat singlehanded in one hit before the epoxy glue went off - with a yankee. You could drive a screw at full stretch with a yankee (eg a top door hinge screw on an oversize entry door).

Nowadays I use the Snappy c/sunk drill bits on a cordless drill followed by torx or pozi screws on an impact driver. On marine work I use a cordless to predrill for slotted or pozi stainless A4 screws which in the very large sizes I stlll drive with a big flat screwdriver bit ground from a cold chisel inserted in a handbrace.

Tennis elbow was a common complaint from using hand screwdrivers…
