A Blue weekend, how marvellous!
what other colour could it be? oh white/blue??
Correct.
Well, red day today and we have bright sunshine which is great for the solar panels and solar gain through the large south facing patio windows. That’s pretty much the first time we’ve seen the sun since the last red day so a very lucky occurence.
I reckon we’ll get off Friday. It’s probably not a high demand day.
And I think them using up the Jours Rouges must be because there are no more long spells of nasty cold weather predicted this winter too. As long as they don’t stvff us with 5 days of them at a time…!
After your recommendation Badger I now use the app which warns me very early in the day if the following day is a Jour Rouge. But I am sure others are following your daily postings Badger so thank you for doing them.
I suspect Friday will also be a red day; can’t speak for the whole of France, but where I am, temperatures are on the rise going into February.
Yep, totally possible, just worth noting that Tempo days aren’t decided only by temperature. RTE mainly looks at net consumption (national demand minus solar + wind production). So even with milder temps, if there’s little wind/solar and demand stays high, red days can still happen. Temperature is only part of the equation
The irony with that is that so far, every red day this winter has been a bright sunny day here, and because we have rooftop solar, we’ve been using almost no power for a big chunk of the daytime. That and using the slow cooker to cook our dinner avoiding a power consumption surge after the solar disappears means that for us red days are only a little more expensive than blue or white days. Tomorrow may the first just half sunny day we’ve had so it can’t last.
