I didn’t watch it, but was tempted in case the crowd started to boo Trump. Apparently, on the BBC, Gaby Logan asked Wayne Rooney what he thought of the half time show and he said “I thought it was crap”

Couldn’t be bothered to watch it, argies make a mockery of “the beautiful game” and are too political to take part IMO. Should have been disqualified after the England match for that stance but end of the day, it stays in Europe.

I’m enjoying the descriptions of Trump being booed. 
Apparently when they were handing out medals, Argentine player Cristian Romero walked straight past the orange thug.
Poor Mark Carney, instead of offering US help with the forest fires, Trump started on about wanting compensation ‘or something’, or levying more tariffs because of the smoke. Somehow wood smoke is a problem for him, but coal is ‘beautiful’.

I passed on watching the opening razzmatazz and sort of watched until the first ad break, that was more than enough for me. OH gave up at the cabaret break, watched his Moto’s instead.
As an American, I am really trying to like football, but games like the final are not helping. I still find it mostly boring, in the same league as American baseball, which puts me to sleep. For me, the only sports really worth watching are basketball or American football, but only when my teams are playing or championships.
I’m inclined to believe that any kind of team sport without a personal connection is going to be tedious.

And, for me, there’s no chance of a personal connection without actually knowing someone playing.
Though back in the Durham church, I knew a Sunderland player and two from Hartlepool. They seemed to like chatting to a complete ignoramus. I’d happily have watched them play.
If you had played football at school that might have given you a connection. Football was always something that was done to me, and my loathing of the game has barely faded.
That’s how I feel about netball and hockey.

I missed the half-time show by taking the dogs for a walk. Apparently, they were so desperate to impress, I heard they even dragged out Maradonna!
Spain played football. I am not sure what Argentina were playing.
