The football world cup

Are any of you people football fans? There’s been a fierce backlash about this proposal but no one here seems too bothered about proposals that could wreck it completely. I am, and I hardly watch football.

Yes, one here. Sadly, money talks at all levels of the game. Hence, betting and alcohol and fast food sponsors. I just watch as there isn’t much I can do. I am a rugby fan too, and I often wonder if I could continue to support my club should they, for instance, be sponsored by Saudi Arabia.

FIFA are corrupt and have been for decades, fans are powerless regardless of how they feel about how world football is governed.

I’m “club before country” so am more bothered about Leeds staying in the PL than anything else.

I’m not a fan in particular but I think this is wrong at all levels.

Nope. Cured by being dragged to Luton Town home games for a few years in the 1970s.

And that was back in the days where football was still a sport.

Money has ruined a game that I played for 25 years and watched matches, of any level up until the 80s whenever I could. World cups were watched from end to end but this one? I watched about an hour just sampling bits. Interest killed by Trump, Infantino and the footballing world letting them get away with racism, ripping fans off and favouritism. Trump getting a red card rescinded was the depths.
